2. Océanos.
Es un despliegue visual increíble. Es un descanso para los oídos, ya que perfectamente la voz sobra y podría ser solo el sonido de los animales, e incluso podría ser totalmente muda y seria impresionante. Es un descanso para la mente porque solo hay que mirar y admirar, y no pensar.
Esta dedicada enteramente a la fauna, mostrando unas muy extrañas y desconocidas para la mayoría de la gente.
La escena de los delfines, tiburones y los pajaros cazando es excelente.
Algunas imágenes se ven muy raras y parecen hechas a computador pareciendo irreales.
"Ningún animal se enfrentara al hombre por la supervivencia...
Nuestra indiferencia es cómplice de la extinción de los animales, pero la voluntad de protegerlos nunca ha sido tan grande"

Alicia vuelve a ver todo

Alicia era una niña que siempre veia lo mismo (y no sabia ver), y que creia que las cosas fantasticas solo pasaban en los libros (y las peliculas).
Estaba atrapada en la realidad comunitaria que nos lleva a pensar que porque mucha gente piensa algo esto es la verdad.
Vivimos en un mar de mentiras, sin ver que es un pais de maravillas.

7. Hildebrando

7. Hildebrando. Jorge Franco Velez. 634 paginas. Agosto 2010.
Hildebrando es una historia que relata la paradoja del alcohol. Las historias paralelas hacen un excelente giro de las cualidades buenas que da el alcohol y mas produndamente de las malas. Hace una descripcion detallada del Medellin de esas epocas, en un estilo muy personal y autobiografico que de alguna forma me recordo "El olvido que seremos". Tambien me gusto las descripciones de la medicina y el Hospital San Vicente.
En mi opinion, es una lastima que el autor haga muy breves comentarios a los grandes cambios politicos en el momento, y en algunos momentos las descripciones medicas se quedan cortas (Aunque ninguno de estos dos aspectos son lo fundamentales del libro).
Algunas de las experiencias del alcoholismo se vuelven repetitivas, pero eran necesarias cuando se llega al capitulo el derrumbamiento, la salida del abismo es muy rapida y poco detallada.
La mejor parte desde el punto de vista medico es la hospitalizacion de Hildebrando por un
Delirium Tremens, y desde el punto de vista etico la excelente disertacion del Doctor Ortega que le hace a Hildebrando de como identificarse como alcoholico.

"-Vea señora. Nosotros estamos intoxicados con alcohol y barbituricos. Vamos a estar muy dormidos hasta mañana. Si usted ve que el sueño se prolonga; que la respiracion es lenta; si nos siente el pulso debil; si las pupilas estan dilatadas y, sobre todo si, ve que echamos babaza, nos hace llevar a la Policlinica y les dice alla a los medicos que tenemos una intoxicacion barbiturica y que necesitamos oxigeno, suero y estricnina... Asi pasaron dormidos durante dos dias...al entreabrir sus ojos mutuamente se saludaron: -¿Que hubo, hijueputa?... -!Señora por Dios! dijo alarmado. Estuvimos en peligro de muerte. ¿Como fue que no nos llamo o nos hizo llevar a policlinica? Si hubieramos muerto, habria sido culpa suya. Yo le explique muy bien, me acuerdo perfectamente, los sintomas de la intoxicacion barbiturica.
-Yo estaba tranquila viendolos dormidos. Y sobre todo, como no les vi la babaza..."
Indicaciones profilacticas de como tratar una intoxicacion con barbituricos y alcohol, dadas por Hildebrando a su empleada previas a una intoxicacion anticipada con alcohol y: Amital simple, Seconal sodico y Nembutal.

6. The Last Jew

6. The Last Jew. Noah Gordon. 348 pages. August 2010.
I did not like it much. The story has a slowly pace filled with unnecesary chapters. There is also an incredibly high number of fortuitous and lucky situations for the character. Another bad aspect is that the setting is in Spain and the book is in english. The best parts are the one when he is in Gibraltar as an armorer and in Saragossa as a physician. Despite this it has interesting historical facts, as the coincidential time of the discovery of America and the expelling of the jews from Spain. The descriptions of the medieval life, and specially the medical ones are good. It has many similarities with the physician.

"Then you must see the powers of medical arts more clearly. A physician is able to ease the suffering of a small number of people. We fight their diseases, we bind their wounds and set their broken bones and deliver their young. Yet every living creature eventually must come to an end. So despite our learning and skill and passion, some of our patients die, and we must not overly mourn of feel guilt that we are not gods who are able to grant eternity... Because if you lack this understanding you will be a poor phisician indeed, for you will go mad." The reason for being a physician as explained by Nuño Fierro to Yonah Toledano.

The cover illustration is Francisco Goya and depicts a Jew trial or Auto- de -fe, they have the characteristic pointed hats.

1. Inception

1. Inception.
A very exploited theme in cinema, that could have ended up just as another action movie. A carefully drived story, that takes the watcher to fully concentrate from the beginning. An excellent psychological and sophisticated travel to many multiverses consisting of minds, crossed between themselves architecturing a complex maze.
The movie has interesting concepts and methaphors: The theorethical infinite spinning of the spin, the ability to morph dreams (Penrose Stairs), the limits of the mind to create and sustain lies (Doms methaphor of an idea as a great virus), the innability of people to remember the beginning of dreams, the great motivation of the characters to take a "leap of faith", and the most complex; a dream within a dream. The characters get so deep in their own minds that they get close to lose the sense of reality.In my personal account they go through 6 levels: Reality, 1 dream (The city), 2 dream (Hotel), 3 dream (Mountain), 4 dream (Dom and Mal`s limbo), 5 dream (Saito`s limbo); plus the unknown final destination, as the movie ends undetermined whether agent Cobb ended up in reality or locked up in a dream.
The movie is clear enough, but I recommend to see it twice to get a clearer grasp to some of the concepts without needing to be very focused on the plot.
The movie has some minor holess, that do not influence greatly on the development.
